Alcarte 2011: a successful opening

Usually included in the Festas do Barrete Verde e das Salinas, the opening of Alcarte 2011 took place on August 6th, about a week before the start of the festivities in Alcochete.
This fact didn't condition the success of the opening of Alcarte 2011 colective art exhibition.

With a higher number of participating artists than what has been usual during the last years, the opening was attended by numerous people interested in art.
Visitors showed great interest and curiosity about the works and the interaction between artists and public arised spontaneously.

With the festivities starting on August 12th and the exhibition lasting until September 2nd, a good number of visits is expected.

Art Auction to Benefit the Victims in Japan

The portuguese artist José Carrilho announced the auction of an original oil painting to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that recently striked Japan.
The eventual result of the sale will go in total to the Japan Disaster Fund of the Salvation Army.

Original fine art collectors can see and bid for the painting on Ebay until April 5, 2011.
Due to its purpose, the minimum bid starts at only $30.

José Carrilho Expands His Private Art Collection

The portuguese fine artist and art collector José Carrilho has acquired another original painting for his private collection.
The work, an acrylic on board, was painted by Kathie Papasso and is entitled "NightLight Please"
